No instruction provided.%u2022Wednesdays12-2 p.m.Walter ReedDrop-inThe Northern Virginia Senior Olympics (NVSO) will be held from Saturday, Sept. 13 through Sunday, Sept. 30. Thomas Jefferson Community Center will host opening ceremonies beginning at 9:30 a.m., which will be followed by track events. The public is invited to all events, which will be held at venues throughout Northern Virginia. The registration fee remains the same at $20, which covers an unlimited number of events. Online registration opens Monday, July 7 and closes Friday, August 29. Participants must be 50 years of age by Dec. 31 and live in a sponsoring jurisdiction. There are over 70 events, most in 5, 10 and 20 year age groups and some by gender. Up-to-date information is on the website, www.nvso.us, plus photos and results from last year.You don%u2019t have to be an athlete to participate! In addition to track and field, swimming, pickleball, cycling, golf and other outdoor events, consider scrabble, line dancing, sudoku, 10 pin bowling, Mah Jongg and more. A schedule of events is on the website. Volunteers are also welcome to assist with events. Both participants and nonparticipants are eligible to volunteer.
